Broadband service outage

At 11:18 am on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, Lyndon Township broadband service was interrupted due to a fiber optic cable cut in downtown Chelsea.  MEC dispatched repair crews immediately, located and replaced the damaged fiber.  Service was restored at 8:00 pm.

Even before this outage, work has been underway to install a redundant, geographically diverse underground cable route to service Lyndon township. Having redundant fiber routes creates a safety net so that if something were to happen to either fiber cable, service to the township would not be interrupted.  When in place, this will prevent future occurrences of the type of outage we experienced.

We appreciate your patience and the Implementation Committee will continue to work to provide the best possible broadband service to the township
